Terms of Service

Effective date: March 2026

1. Service Description

CutMyMedicalBill.com ("we," "us," or "the Service") analyzes medical bills for potential billing errors using publicly available Medicare coding rules, fee schedules, and industry-standard billing practices. Our analysis compares the charges on your bill against Medicare reimbursement rates, correct coding guidelines (NCCI edits, MUE limits), and other benchmarks to identify potential overcharges, duplicate charges, unbundling errors, and upcoding.

If we identify errors or overcharges, we may, with your written authorization, contact your healthcare provider's billing department on your behalf to dispute the charges and negotiate a reduced bill.

2. What We Are Not

  • We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. Nothing in our analysis or communications constitutes legal counsel. If you need legal advice regarding your medical bills, please consult a licensed attorney.
  • We do not provide medical advice. Our analysis is limited to billing accuracy. We do not evaluate the medical necessity or appropriateness of any treatment or procedure.
  • We are not a healthcare provider, insurer, or government agency. We are an independent bill review service.

3. Fees and Payment

Our initial bill analysis is provided at no charge. If we identify billing errors and successfully negotiate a reduction in your bill, our fee is 10% of the confirmed savings. "Confirmed savings" means the dollar amount by which your bill is reduced as a direct result of our intervention, as confirmed in writing by the provider or reflected in an updated billing statement.

If we do not achieve any savings on your behalf, you owe us nothing. We charge no upfront fees, subscription fees, or retainer fees.

Payment is due within 30 days of confirmed savings. We accept payment via credit card through our secure payment processor (Stripe).

4. No Guarantee of Results

While we use rigorous analysis methods based on Medicare coding rules and industry benchmarks, we cannot guarantee any particular outcome. Not every bill contains errors, and not every provider will agree to reduce charges. The presence of a billing anomaly in our analysis does not necessarily mean the charge is incorrect -- it means it warrants further review.

Results vary based on factors including but not limited to: the nature of the charges, the provider's billing practices, state regulations, your insurance coverage, and the provider's willingness to negotiate.

5. Your Responsibilities

By using the Service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your medical bills, including all line items, charges, procedure codes, and dates of service.
  • Not submit bills that belong to another person without their explicit written consent.
  • Notify us promptly if you receive any communications from your provider regarding disputed charges.
  • Not misrepresent any information provided to us or to healthcare providers.

6. Authorization to Act on Your Behalf

Before we contact any healthcare provider or third party on your behalf, we will request your explicit written authorization through our authorization form. This authorization specifies the scope of actions we may take, which may include:

  • Contacting your provider's billing department
  • Requesting itemized bills and billing records
  • Negotiating charges and payment plans
  • Filing complaints with state regulators if warranted

You may revoke this authorization at any time by contacting us at support@cutmedicalbill.com.

7. Data Handling

We analyze the billing data you provide to us, including CPT/HCPCS codes, revenue codes, charges, dates of service, and provider information. We do not collect, store, or require your Social Security number. Patient names and dates of birth are used only for provider verification when acting on your behalf and are not stored in our analysis database. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CutMyMedicalBill.com and its owners, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the total fees you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

We are not responsible for any actions taken by healthcare providers, insurance companies, or other third parties in response to our communications on your behalf.

9. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with us regarding the Service, please contact us first at support@cutmedicalbill.com so we can attempt to resolve it informally. If we are unable to resolve the dispute informally, both parties agree to resolve any claims through binding arbitration conducted in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, rather than through court proceedings. You agree that any arbitration will be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class action.

10. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we determine, in our sole discretion, that continued use poses a risk to us or to other users. Any fees owed for confirmed savings prior to termination remain due.
